Course Title: Trainers Methodology Level I (TM I)

Course Description:

Trainers Methodology Level I (TM I) is a competency-based training program designed to equip aspiring and practicing trainers with the essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to effectively facilitate learning and conduct competency-based assessments in the Technical-Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.

This course focuses on the development and delivery of training sessions aligned with the principles of competency-based training (CBT). It prepares trainers to plan and organize training sessions, utilize appropriate learning resources, facilitate learning in various delivery modes—including face-to-face, blended, and flexible learning—and conduct fair and reliable assessments of learner competence.

TM I also emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning, learner-centered approaches, and adherence to national training regulations and quality standards in TVET delivery.

Upon completion, participants are expected to:

  • Demonstrate mastery in planning and delivering training sessions based on CBT principles

  • Facilitate learning using a variety of training delivery modes

  • Develop and utilize learning materials and resources

  • Apply effective communication and workplace leadership skills

  • Conduct competency-based assessments and provide appropriate feedback

  • Promote environmental responsibility and lifelong learning in training contexts

This course is a mandatory qualification for TVET trainers and is aligned with TESDA’s national competency standards and guidelines for technical education and skills development.
